Mount Kenya Trekking & Hiking

A six-day trek through Mount Kenya's forest, moorland and glacial peaks.

A proper trekking itinerary up Africa's second-highest mountain via the Sirimon route, with acclimatisation days built in and mountain huts along the way.

Day By Day

Day 1

Nairobi to Sirimon Gate

Transfer to the mountain, trek to the first camp through forest.

Day 2

Forest to moorland

Trek up through bamboo and moorland to the second camp.

Day 3

Acclimatisation day

Short acclimatisation walk, rest at altitude.

Day 4

Summit attempt

Pre-dawn summit push to Point Lenana, descend to a lower camp.

Day 5

Descent

Continue the descent through changing vegetation zones.

Day 6

Return to Nairobi

Final descent to the gate, transfer back to Nairobi.
